Apple's patent merits was rejected because Microsoft had beaten them to the patent, just there was no judgement whatsoever on who the originating marketer of the technology was, and this is an important concept in U.S. patent law. It will be a fairly standard excercise at this point for Apple to render to courtroom to demonstrate that the iPod existed as prior art long before Microsoft filed, and they have a very skilful chance of having Microsoft's patent invalidated on that basis. The most likely worst case for Apple is that NOBODY will be awarded a patent on the interface elements covered in the claim, but it is highly unlikely that Apple will always exist beholden to MS at this betoken. This AP commodity seems to concord: http://world wide web.kingcountyjournal.com/sit down...ry/html/215093

I doubt that Microsoft ever really expected this situation either, or they would take made license claims prior to now. Their press release was really more tongue-in-cheek ribbing than serious licensing overture.

Honestly.... what was Apple tree thinking?!?!? That they could merely wait a few months to apply for a patent???? Even though Neb may exist ruthless... you have to give Apple tree some idiot points for non being on their game.

Apple finally gets a solid product line that actually takes off.. so WHAMMMM! MS STIKES Once more!

It volition be interesting to see what the last ruling is.

And if Apple really didn't apply for the patent, then they get what they deserve. Clowns.

It's the truth, it was on like CNN or something a few weeks ago (aye i picket the news, when its midnight and no good shows are on), merely Bill really has a good eye for business organization, he makes coin off just virtually everything, even those that aren't his/his companies inventions. If we we're in his position and knew we could practise it, and so we probably would.

Wow, okay, thanks for verifying. I wasn't so sure when the earlier link was to a site with a porn popup. o_O, anyway, that was a really stupid move on the part of Apple. That is why we have a patent office.
